Volkswagen's 2020 Passat will arrive as a face-lifted midsize sedan with a more powerful engine, additional standard safety features, and improved warranty coverage.
The 2020 Passat will be powered by a 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder inline-four that now produces 207 pound-feet of torque in addition to 174 horsepower. The vehicle has a new torque converter with updated software to boost torque from the 184 lb.-ft. of the outgoing model.
New exterior styling incorporates a coupe-like profile. The interior adds new design and premium materials. Available features include heated rear seats, leather seating surfaces, an adaptive front lighting system, and Fender audio system.
Standard features include 17-inch aluminum wheels, full LED lighting, App-Connect, front assist with pedestrian monitoring, blind spot monitor, and rear traffic alert. Available safety features include adaptive cruise control, lane assist, and park assist.
The 2020 Passat reformats its warranty coverage from the pair of six-year or 72,000-mile basic and powertrain warranties. It will now offer a single bumper-to-bumper limited warranty of six years or 72,000 miles. Coverage can be transferred to a new owner.
