Richard Beecher, retired Buick fleet director

Richard "Dick" Beecher, retired Buick fleet director, died of a heart attack at his home in Davidson, Mich. on Dec. 6. He was 81.

Beecher had a long career in the fleet industry, and played a key role in the formation of General Motors' fleet operations unit in the 1990s that combined car and truck sales to fleets. The unit is now known as GM Fleet and Commercial. Beecher had served as the fleet director of the Buick Motor Division.

Beecher leaves behind his wife Diane and their three children, including David, Melinda, and Catherine.
