Commercial Fleet Sales Increased 18% in November
In November, sales of vehicles to commercial fleets increased 18.2% to 60,967, while sales into daily rental increased 6.4% to 122,433. Sales to government agencies increased 4.6% to 20,386.

For the year so far, sales to commercial fleets have increased 10.1% to 683,019.

Sales of vehicles to commercial fleets from eight manufactures increased 18.2% to 60,967 in November compared to a year ago as sales of trucks, vans, and SUVs increased 16.1% to 53,149 while fleet sales of passenger cars increased 34.8% to 7,818. Truck-based sales provided about 87% of the volume, according to Automotive Fleet data.
For the year so far, sales to commercial fleets have increased 10.1% to 683,019. Truck-based sales have increased 10.7% to 602,425, while car sales have increased 5.7% to 80,594. For the year, truck-based sales have made up 88% of the volume.
Sales to government fleets from five manufacturers increased 4.6% to 20,386. Truck-based sales increased 0.1% to 16,570 and car sales increased 29.9% to 3,816. For the year, government sales have increased 2% to 246,900. Truck sales have increased 4.7% to 206,004 and car sales have fallen 9.6% to 40,896.
Daily rental sales from nine manufacturers increased 6.4% to 122,433 units. Truck-based sales fell 14.1% to 71,461 units, while car sales increased 2.8% to 50,962 units. Year-to-date sales have increased 6.6% to 1.56 million vehicles with an 11.3% decline in car sales to 618,253 and a 22.8% increase in truck-based sales to 945,309 units.
For all three segments, fleet sales in November increased 9.5% from a year ago to 203,776 units with a 13% gain in truck sales to 141,180 and a 2.3% increase in car sales to 62,596. For the year so far, sales into the three fleet segments have increased 7% to 2.49 million. While truck-based sales have increased 16.1% to 1.75 million, car sales have fallen 9.7% to 739,743.
