Honda will introduce a redesigned Pilot mid-size SUV for the 2016 model year at the Chicago Auto Show on Feb. 12 that will add new technology and advanced safety features, the automaker announced.
Honda has been producing the Pilot since the 2003 model year, and the vehicle entered its second generation with the 2009-MY as a larger vehicle offered in the LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring trim levels. The 2015-MY Pilot is powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 VTEC engine that produces 250 hp. It offers three rows of seating to accommodate eight passengers.
Honda is promising a "dramatic shift in design" for the 2016-MY Pilot, and will use the vehicle to showcase "new standout technologies, versatility, and dynamics currently unavailable in the mainstream SUV segment," according to a release.
The Pilot is now built in Lincoln, Ala.
