Three new Fleet Hall of Fame inductees were announced recently at the 2025 Automotive Fleet and Leasing Association (AFLA) annual conference in Marco Island, Florida, on Monday, Sept. 15.
Each year, the awards are sponsored by AFLA and presented by Automotive Fleet.
Hall of Fame inductees have over 10 years of fleet experience and are recognized for the "indelible mark each has made within the commercial fleet management profession,” according to the awards criteria.
“Our Hall of Fame nominees are fleet professionals who have made a profound difference in the industry over their careers, which span decades,” said Chris Brown, associate publisher of Automotive Fleet. “This is truly a lifetime achievement award.”
This year's three honorees join more than 100 others who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame since its establishment in 2008.
Oleg Cytowicz: Early Beginnings
“This honor isn’t just a reflection of my journey,” said Cytowicz in his acceptance speech. “It’s a celebration of everyone who helped me along the way.”
Cytowicz began his career in 1989 at Lever Brothers (later acquired by Unilever), where he worked as a senior automotive statistical clerk. His analytics helped uncover patterns that reduced vehicle downtime by 12% in under a year.
He was employed by Unilever for 34 years, during which he advanced to various operations roles.
At Unilever, Cytowicz served as the global automotive fleet lead and senior analyst, supporting programs across North America.
He also served on Unilver’s Global Fleet Council, developing policy frameworks and programs.
Cytowicz’s most recent career stop was in a sales role at VolvoCars USA.
Leadership, Connection, and Vibrant Networks
Cytowicz is not only passionate about fleet — he’s passionate about mentorship.
As an industry advocate and speaker, he has shared his best practices on procurement strategy, risk management, and change management.
“His open-door approach has cultivated a vibrant network of professionals committed to continuous improvement,” said his nominator. “Oleg embodies the qualities we celebrate in this Hall of Fame: visionary strategy, measurable impact, and the selfless mentorship that elevates an entire industry.”
Thanks to his innovation, companies have saved millions in operational costs, and his coworkers have taken notice of his drive.
“He’s inspired peers to redefine excellence in corporate mobility,” the nominator continued.
An Unforgettable Ride
The National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA) awarded Cytowicz the Larry Goill Award, for promoting innovative fleet management solutions. He was also nominated for Fleet Manager of the Year in 2017.
In 2025, he was selected to the inaugural class of NAFA Fellows.
Cytowicz was inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside industry leaders Lisa Kneggs and Laura Jozwiak.
“I would like to thank everyone who has taken their personal time to share their insight and knowledge, and taken a personal interest in my professional development,” Cytowicz said at the close of his acceptance speech.
“I promise I will continue to provide the same level of support offered to me to anyone who asks…This honor isn’t just a reflection of my journey — it’s a celebration of everyone who helped me along the way. Thank you for making this ride so far unforgettable.”
