Fleetworthy has officially launched expedited inspection, a feature available through Drivewyze by Fleetworthy.

The feature follows pilot programs and is now available to fleets passing through weigh station sites in Nevada. Initial compatibility includes electronic logging devices (ELDs) from Geotab and Platform Science. Additional states offering this capability will be announced soon.

Expedited inspection enables the automatic and secure transfer of fleet and vehicle registration data to pre-fill inspection forms. It also facilitates automated delivery of a driver’s Electronic Record of Duty Status (eRODS) to enforcement officials. This process reduces the need for manual data entry and streamlines the transfer of inspection-related information.

The goal of the feature is to accelerate roadside inspections and reduce time spent at inspection sites. It also aims to reduce the risk of violations related to the failure to produce Hours of Service (HOS) data.

In Nevada, drivers using the PreClear weigh station bypass system can activate Expedited Inspection through their ELD. Once activated, the feature becomes functional in Nevada and will work in other participating states as they are added.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is supporting the implementation of Expedited Inspection. The agency has integrated the feature into its enforcement procedures to automate certain manual tasks, which allows officers to concentrate on enforcement duties.

Drivewyze PreClear users may still be subject to random inspections. Expedited inspection addresses these scenarios by automating parts of the traditional inspection process.

Platform Science has integrated expedited inspection into its ELD solution. The company plans to offer the feature to its customers.

Fleetworthy states that the automation of HOS data transfer and inspection workflows is intended to reduce inspection times and support law enforcement operations.
