Ficenec was an industry leader previously at Donaldson and a dedicated Element team member for over 17 years. Element characterizes Ficenec as quiet, always thoughtful, and highly effective at partnering to get more done than was often thought possible.

According to his official obituary, Ficenec brought his passion for life to his career, honing his reputation as a skilled negotiator at a young age. He also learned the fine art of bargaining from his parents when tagging along to antique auction sales and car shows.

Ficenec attended Jamestown College in Jamestown, ND, where he studied business, economics, and mathematics while playing Defensive End for “The Jimmies”. Following his undergraduate studies, Ficenec enrolled at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, where he earned his Master of Business Administration and unwittingly became a lifelong Minnesotan.

Ficenec was a dedicated leader, advisor, and mentor, and in the words of his team, “just a special person.” Throughout his career, Ficenec earned the trust of his coworkers and the suppliers he worked with by consistently maintaining high integrity and respect. His approach was always focused on creating win/win situations for everyone involved, turning business relationships into partnerships and friendships.

“He was known for his hard work, fleet expertise, and steady leadership. His presence will be greatly missed not just at Element but with our clients, partners, and across the industry,” the company stated.

“We know how much he cared about helping others, and this is one small way we can honor his legacy,” the company stated.
