Following a 70% investment in Syngin Technology in 2018, global shipping and logistics company Wallenius Wilhelmsen has completed purchase of the vehicle software solutions provider, adding Syngin to its new digital supply chain services unit.

From fleet vehicle order placement to the OEM assembly plant, to the upfitting provider, and, finally, to the delivering dealer, the Norway-based Wallenius Wilhelmsen is known for managing vehicle supply chain logistics worldwide.

The Syngin technology platform and concierge team will provide “a reliable and cost-effective last-mile transportation solution … purpose-built to manage vehicle moves for fleet managers and vehicle remarketers,” according to Wallenius Willhelmsen officials.

Syngin’s platform was revamped recently to improve the user experience, simplify workflows, and streamline system integrations through application programming interfaces (APIs), the company said.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen COO Mike Hynekamp envisions using the Syngin technology beyond fleet management customers, including OEMs and other aspects of the shipping company’s business. “We now can grow the Syngin marketplace beyond fleet cars and into new vehicles at scale and expand our services globally,” he said.
