California's Electric Highway Just Got More Juice
The installation of DC fast chargers at three Love’s Travel Stops along Highway 99 expands the West Coast Electric Highway and takes a big step in the electrification of commercial fleets.

The charging stations at Love’s Tulare location are the result of a partnership between EV Connect, makers of an EV charging cloud platform and Trillium, Love's alternative fuel business unit.

Three Love’s Travel Stops along Highway 99 in California's Central Valley now have electric vehicle charging stations as a result of a partnership between EV Connect and Trillium, Love's alternative fuel business unit.
The completion of the new charging stations expands California's portion of the nearly 4,000-mile West Coast Electric Highway aimed at providing charging stations every 25 to 50 miles.
The new stations include DC fast chargers and Level-2 chargers at Love's stations in Ripon, Madera, and Tulare and use EV Connect's cloud-based software platform for managing electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The three Love’s charging sites will feature rates of 50 or 150 kilowatts and accommodate charging for up to four vehicles at one time.
The initiative is funded through incentives and grants from the California Energy Commission. EV Connect will operate the charging stations, while Trillium will build the sites and provide ongoing management.
EV Connect provides the industry's largest open-standards EV charging cloud platform for managing networks of charging stations and their interaction with utilities.
“Building EV charging bridges between the right points along strategic travel corridors, like our expansion with Love’s, is critical for the electrification of commercial fleets,” said Jordan Ramer, founder and CEO of EV Connect. “At EV Connect, we confront the reality that site owners, parking lot managers, fleet operators, and the other members of the charging ecosystem must have an easy way to manage the complex infrastructure required to meet the growing demands of EV drivers.”
“Our platform serves as the foundation for EV charging distribution and management. With the billions of dollars in rebates and incentives for commercial fleet electrification available today, we will continue to ensure that charging opportunities become ubiquitous.”
