Volkswagen introduces the industry's best in class SUV warranty for 2018. Standard on every all-new Volkswagen Atlas and Tiguan, it includes 6-year/72,000-mile transferable bumper-to-bumper coverage. The warranty provides the commercial fleet buyer peace of mind throughout typical hold time and mileage ownership experience. The warranty includes powertrain coverage for the engines, transmissions, and the optional 4Motion® all-wheel-drive system.
Some competitors do offer 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty along with a higher time and mileage limit. However those warranties are non-transferable. Not Volkswagen's. This best-in-class transferrable warranty covers the Atlas and Tiguan up to 6-years or 72,000 miles, whichever comes first.
The all-new midsize Volkswagen Atlas is produced in Chattanooga, TN. It seats up to seven passengers, and has 96.8 cubic feet of cargo space when the second and third row seats are folded down. Customers can choose between two powertrains: the 2.0L turbocharged and direct-injection TSI® four cylinder with 235 hp or the 3.6L VR6 engine with 276 hp. An 8-speed automatic transmission will deliver power to a standard front-wheel drivetrain or optional 4Motion® all-wheel-drive*.
And for 2018 the compact Tiguan is fully redesigned from the ground up. The 2018 Tiguan is significantly larger than the 1st generation Tiguan. It offers a standard 3rd row seat**, a 10.7-inch extension in overall length totaling at 185.2 inches, and 57% additional cargo space. The 2018 Tiguan will be powered by a 2.0L turbocharged, direct-injection TSI engine that makes 184 hp and 221 lb.-ft. of torque. It is available in standard front-wheel drive or optional 4Motion® all-wheel drive.
Both vehicles were designed specifically for the North American market and are priced competitively in their respective segments.
