Subaru has begun offering an online tool that allows fleets to search for open recalls using the vehicle identification number through the Carfax used vehicle platform. The service is offered at no cost.
Managers of medium-sized and large fleets can use the service, which has also been enabled by the Association of Global Automakers and the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, Inc.
Users of the service can enter a large number of VINs and can enter numbers from multiple manufacturers. The data will be provided in a spreadsheet.
Fleet managers can request an account under the For Government/Business heading and provide some basic information about their role and needs. The request will be reviewed by Carfax and the two automotive groups in five working days.
