According to General Motors, the GMC Sierra, including the 1500 and HD models, are integral parts of a $65 billion truck business for GM.

The 3.0L Duramax diesel engine on the 1500 is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Max towing for the Sierra 1500 with the diesel engine is 9,100 pounds and max payload is 1,830 pounds.

The MultiPro tailgate available on the 1500 and HD offers six different functions.

The AT4 trim of the 2020 Sierra offers capable off-road performance.

The Sierra 1500’s average transaction price is the highest in the industry, according to GMC. The high transaction price is partly fueled by nearly half of all Sierra 1500 sales being AT4 or Denali trim sales.

The 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel engine in the 1500 provides up to 277 hp and 30 mpg highway.

The 2020 Sierra 1500 and HD have an available CarbonPro bed available. To show the durability of the CarbonPro bed, GMC allowed us to hit the bed with a baseball bat — multiple wooden broke and an aluminum bat suffered serious bending, but the bed saw no damage.

On one of the driving days our trucks carried about 2,000 pounds and driving the truck felt as if it wasn’t carrying anything.
