Ford's 2019 Transit Connect Cargo

Ford's 2019 Transit Connect enters its third generation with significant updates for the wagon and cargo (shown) vans.

The three trims include XL, XLT (shown), and Titanum.

Fleets can order windows for the rear cargo doors.

Ford offers its Transit Connect in two wheelbases, including the long, 121-inch (shown) and short, 105-inch versions.

New standard safety technologies include automatic emergency braking, pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection, side wind stabilization, and a rear-view camera.

Rear doors open and can swing out up to 180 degrees from this locked position by pushing a yellow button.

The LWB model offers 127.4 cu.-ft. of cargo space behind the front seats, while the SWB model offers 104.8 cu.-ft.

Here's a closer look at the cargo compartment, which includes bright LED lighting for night deliveries.

Ford's Sync3 infotainment system displays on an optional 6.5-inch touchscreen.

The van pairs a new 2.0L inline-six that makes 150 horsepower and 144 foot-pounds of torque to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Fleets can also order 2.5L gasoline or 1.5L turbodiesel engines.
