1918-1938: The early trucks included the 1918 One-Ton that was based on trucks used to move parts around Chevrolet's factory.

1918-1938: Trucks in the 1930s brought the Silent Synchromesh transmission that eliminated the need to double-clutch to shift gears.

1939-1946: Chevrolet build trucks for WWII that included a 14-ton armored car. Civilian production resumed in 1945.

1967-1972: The second generation C/K trucks, included the 1967 C/K 10. The compact truck, the LUV, debuted in 1972.

1999-2006: The first-generation Silverado on the GMT 800 platform introduced a new line of Vortec V-8 engines.

2014-2018: The third-generation Silverado (K2RC) add the CornerStep rear bumper.

1947-1955: The Advance Design trucks, including the 3100 Series, used a five-bar horizontal grille and rounded profile.

1955-1959: The Task Force series included the 1955 Cameo Carrier that was the first to use "fleetside" styling.

1960-1966: The first-generation C/K trucks used lower drop-center frames and debuted Chevrolet's small block V-8.

1973-1987: The third generation C/K included the 1973 C30 One-Ton Dually debut.

1988-1998: The fourth generation C/K trucks were built on the GMT 400 platform and were the first to use Insta-Trac 4WD.

2007-2013: The second-generation Silverado on the GMT 900 platform added coil-over-shock front suspension and rack-and-pinion steering.
