Chevrolet's Tahoe has been a powerhouse vehicle for GM since its introduction in the 1995 model year as a multipurpose family vehicle. It has since seen extensive use by fleets, including police users of the Tahoe PPV as well as fire and EMS responders. The 2020 model year marks the 25th anniversary of the large SUV. Chevrolet Tahoe Through the Years

Chevrolet's Tahoe arrived for the 1995-MY as a multipurpose SUV built on a truck platform.

The 1995 Tahoe provided better maneuverability as a short-wheelbase truck with four doors.

The second generation 2003 Tahoe saw a major refresh including StabiliTrak stability enhancement system, dual-level airbags, a passenger-sensing system, adjustable brake, and accelerator pedals with memory.

The 2006 Tahoe marked the final year of the GMT800 platform.

The fourth-generation 2016 Tahoe expanded on the increased connectivity of the 2015 model and offered a package with forward collision alert, IntelliBeam headlamps, lane keep assist and a safety alert seat.

The 2019 Tahoe saw minor changes, and the 2020 Tahoe will likely be the final model before the fifth generation.

The first-generation Tahoe continued with the 1999 model. The sister Yukon model added a long-wheelbase variant.

The third-generation 2008 Tahoe offered Hybrid 2mode with two trim levels (HY1 or HY2).

Chevrolet offered a police package starting in 1997, and, in 2014, the pursuit-rated Tahoe PPV.

The 2014 Tahoe appeared in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
