The City of Rancho Cordova is running a three-month pilot project featuring Olli, a 3D printed, self-driving shuttle developed by Local Motors. It will be operating at the White Rock Corporate Campus from Aug. 7 to Nov. 7, available to campus employees and the general public.
The project is funded by the Sacramento Area Council of Governments through a $90,000 grant. It also has $10,000 in funding assistance from the City of Rancho Cordova.
During the three-month pilot, data will be gathered via rider surveys to understand public reception, the potential for congestion relief and better mobility, the reduction of single occupant vehicle use, and the potential for the use of the latest Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) technology.
