Nissan Commits to Clean Diesel Engine in Maxima in 2010

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Nissan has announced plans to launch its first clean diesel engine in the United States for use in the Nissan Maxima in 2010. The passenger car will be powered by an all-new Alliance engine co-developed with its partner, Renault, and will clear U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Tier II Bin 5 emissions requirements.

Number of Alternative-Fuel Automobiles on California's Roads Increased 17% in 2006

b>SACRAMENTO, CA – Automakers are celebrating National Alternative Fuel Autos Month by releasing state specific data on the sales of alternative-fuel automobiles. The R.L. Polk and Co. figures show 837,743 hybrid-electric, ethanol-capable E-85 and clean diesel autos on California's roads in 2006, marking an increase of 17 percent from 2005 when there were approximately 700,000 Alternative Fuel Autos on the state's roads.
