Ford's 2019 F-150 has been selected as the top pick among full-sized trucks by Consumer Reports in its annual rankings that are viewed as a barometer of vehicle quality.
The report selected 10 top vehicles in various categories, and selected Subaru at the top overall brand.
"The F-150 continues to be King of Pickup Mountain, despite tough competition from the recently redesigned Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, and Ram 1500," said Jeff Bartlett, deputy editor of autos. "The F-150 lineup ranges from basic work trucks to richly appointed trailer haulers, and there are many steps in between."
Ford's 2019 F-150 offeres five engines, including two "potent" turbocharged V-6s with 10-speed transmissions, and a "wide array of equipment" to make driving and connectivity easier, Bartlett wrote in an announcement.
Other category winners included the Subaru Ascent for midsized SUV, Toyota Camry Hybrid for midsized car, Audi A4 for compact luxury car, Hyundai Kona for subcompact SUV, Toyota Yaris for subcompact car, Toyota Avalon Hybrid for large car, BMW X5 for luxury SUV, Toyota Prius for hybrid/electric car, and Subaru Forester for compact SUV.
