2013 Green Fleet Conference & Expo

The University of Michigan Solar Car Team displayed its solar-powered vehicle. The University of Michigan Solar Car Team was established in 1990 and has consistently produced top-ranking vehicles and has won the American Solar Challenge seven times and took third place in the World Solar Challenge five times.



At the sessions, fleets could choose between three different session tracks: commercial, government, and heavy-duty trucks.

The Ride & Drive was one of the most popular events this year. The city of Phoenix allowed the Green Fleet Conference to take over an entire street.

Drivers lined up to test drive the latest alternative-fuel vehicles at the Ride & Drive.



Ride & Drive participants receieved prizes for getting behind the wheel of the various alt-fuel and powered vehicles.

The Firefly ESV can be used for parking enforcement, meter reading, and small package delivery. This vehicle has a range of 60 miles but a vehicle with a 90-mile range is also available.




The 2013 Hino 195H has a 5L diesel-electric hybrid system and runs on B-20.


Chevrolet Cruze powered by clean diesel fuel is in the front. In the back is the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado bi-fuel CNG vehicle, which has a 17 GGE CNG tank and a 36-gallon gasoline tank.



This 14,500-lb. Isuzu NPR HD gas truck has been converted with an IMPCO bi-fuel CNG system. It has a 29 GGE CNG system in addition to the 30-gallon gasoline tank.

Among the several keynote speakers, Don Diego Padilla from FleetMind Solutions gave a presentation on five ways fleets can initiate sustainability goals today. The session was sponsored by Chevron Delo.

The breakfast keynote speaker Kipp Coddington described to the crowd how the government shutdown will affect fleets. The speaker was sponsored by GM Fleet & Commercial.

As the 70,000 sq.-ft. exhibit hall opened, the more than 600 attendees poured in to check out the more than 65 exhibitors.

Chevron Delo sponsored the first day's lunch.

Attendees won different prizes throught the expo hall Passport Program.

The City of Sacramento, Calif., was named the No. 1 Government Green Fleet. Keith Leech, fleet manager for the City, accepted the award at the conference.

Boulder Electric Vehicle DV500 delivery van belonging to the City of Galveston, Texas, goes up to 100 miles on one charge and is freeway-capable up to 75 mph.

Landi Renzo brought an F-450 dedicated CNG truck with Knapheide flatbed body to the conference.

Clean Cities was an association partner of the Green Fleet Conference, from the local to the national level.
