2018 Kona Arrives as Hyundai's Smallest Utility
The Kona is built on an all-new vehicle platform and offered with two engine options: a 2.0L Atkinson Cycle four-cylinder standard engine and 1.6L turbocharged engine with seven-speed EcoShift dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

Hyundai unveiled the U.S.-production version of its 2018 Kona ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show that will allow the Korean automaker to compete in the growing subcompact SUV category.
The Kona is built on an all-new vehicle platform, according to Trevor Loi, the vehicle's product manager. It will be offered with two engines, including a 2.0-liter Atkinson Cycle four-cylinder standard engine and 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with seven-speed EcoShift dual-clutch transmission (DCT). It is available in standard front-wheel or optional all-wheel-drive models.
Advanced active safety features on the Kona include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, High Beam Assist, and Driver Attention Warning.
Kona Ultimate models are equipped with a three-year subscription to Blue Link, Hyundai's connected car system that offers enhanced safety, diagnostic, remote, and guidance services.
