Gasoline Rises to $2.83 Per Gallon
The national average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline increased 5.5 cents to $2.835 for the week ending June 15, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

The national average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline increased 5.5 cents to $2.835 for the week ending June 15, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
The average price increased in eight of the nine regions tracked by the agency, and is now 85.1 cents lower than it its year-ago level. Prices saw the sharpest increase in the Midwest with an 11.7-cent rise to $2.785. The West Coast has the most expensive gasoline at $3.334 per gallon. This region saw the sole decrease in price of 4.3 cents.
Among states, California remains at the top of the list with $3.532-per-gallon gasoline. Seven other states have gasoline costing at least $3 per gallon. At the other end of hte spectrum, only one state (South Carolina at $2.489) now has gasoline below $2.50 per gallon.
Meanwhile, the average price of diesel increased 1.4 cents to $2.87 per gallon. Diesel is now $1.012 lower than it was a year ago.
