The national average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline increased 5.5 cents to $2.835 for the week ending June 15, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
The average price increased in eight of the nine regions tracked by the agency, and is now 85.1 cents lower than it its year-ago level. Prices saw the sharpest increase in the Midwest with an 11.7-cent rise to $2.785. The West Coast has the most expensive gasoline at $3.334 per gallon. This region saw the sole decrease in price of 4.3 cents.
