Mini's 2019 Cooper S Hardtop

Vehicle ResearchPhotos 11November 14, 2018

Mini offers its Cooper S as the two- or four-door Hardtop with a choice of two engines that BMW can tailor to assist with company branding with several optional appearance items. Mary Kay recently added the vehicle to its selector list. Photos by Kelly Bracken.

Cargo volume ranges from 8.7 to 13.1 cubic feet and 38 to 40.7 cubic feet with the seating area.

This model is powered by a 2.0-liter direct-injection four-cylinder engine with BMW's double VANOS variable valve timing.

BMW's Mini division offers its Cooper S 4-Door Hardtop in three trim grades, including Iconic, Signature, and Classic. Mary Kay chose Signature in black with pink accents, including the bonnet stripes on the hood.

Mini simplified the trim grades for the 2019 model year. The Cooper and Cooper S (shown) offer a 1.5-liter three-cylinder and 2.0-liter four cylinder respectively.

EPA-rated fuel economy for the standard Cooper fuel economy is 28/35/30 city/highway/combined with the automatic transmission, and 25/32/28 for the Cooper S with an automatic transmission.

Buyers can add a John Cooper Works suspension package that's similar to the M Sport package on various BMW models.

Commercial fleets can replace the Union Jack mirror covers with their preferred color. Mary Kay chose pink.

Fleet purchasers can also swap out the wheel centers.

Any fleet options are applied at the U.S. vehicle distribution center prior to shipment.

The vehicle includes a wireless cellphone charger in the center armrest.

Interior switches for lights and the moonroof give the feel of an aircraft cockpit.
