The Volvo XC60 will receive a significant refresh for the upcoming model year, featuring key user experience, design, and comfort updates. The broader model range also gets several enhancements.

The refreshed XC60 is equipped with Volvo Cars’ new-generation, new-look user experience, featuring an updated 11.2-in. central touchscreen infotainment system with built-in Google services. All new Volvo cars will come standard with the latest UX, while 2.5 million users worldwide will get it on their vehicles built as early as 2020 via an over-the-air-update scheduled for later this year.

Since its introduction in 2017, the XC60 has been Volvo Cars’ top-selling model, with more than one and a half million XC60s sold across the globe, and 2024 marked a sales record.

“With its cutting-edge user experience, modernized Scandinavian design, improved comfort, and even more luxurious interior, the XC60 sets the standard even higher for midsize SUVs,” Erik Severinson, chief product and strategy officer at Volvo Cars, said. “The improvements focus on what we believe matters most to our customers. These upgrades ensure a more enjoyable and exclusive experience, with the car set to get better over time thanks to over-the-air updates.”

According to Volvo, due to the Snapdragon Cockpit Platform from Qualcomm Technologies, the infotainment system with Google built-in is more than twice as fast as the outgoing system, with ten times faster graphics generation. A more responsive infotainment system could help commercial fleets reduce driver distraction and enhance safety.

New Design, Smart Storage, and Tech Features

The updated Volvo XC60 features a quieter cabin and enhanced seat design, aiming to improve ride comfort. The model also offers optional air suspension and laminated windows. Volvo has also integrated air purification technology into the XC60, which is designed to improve cabin air quality.

Also standard, a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, which includes a redesigned speaker mesh for improved acoustics.
