Cadillac will discontinue its ATS entry-luxury sedan after the 2018 model year, as it moves to rework its sedan lineup to offer three cars, according to a spokesman.
Cadillac will continue to offer the ATS-V sedan, and plans to sell the ATS Coupe through the 2019 model year. Potential ATS sedan buyers would have until the end of the year, said JL Lavina, Cadillac spokesman.
"ATS sedan production rate and inventory levels are being managed to ensure retail sales availability through the end of the year," Lavina said.
Cadillac now offers four sedans in a lineup that also includes the CTS, XTS, and CT6. The CT6 will be offered as the brand's "prestige sedan" with the semi-autonomous Super Cruise technology.
In July, the General Motors luxury unit's former head, Johan de Nysschen, had hinted that two sedans would be replaced by one, which could be called the CT5, reports the Detroit News.
In March, Cadillac announced it would introduce the 2019 XT4 compact SUV in the fall. The XT4 is the second of four planned SUVs, including the 2017 XT5 that debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2015.
