While pioneers like Helen Bland and Helene Kamon set a tone of professionalism for women in fleet, the industry nevertheless was a real man's world well into the early 1980s. The pages of Automotive Fleet were replete with images of women draped over cars suggestively, and ads hinted at more than automotive performance.
