CHICAGO - Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced the City will launch an incentive program for electric trucks in spring 2013, designed to encourage private and public fleets in the Chicago area to convert their diesel trucks to electric operations.
Chicago to Buy 20 Electric Refuse Trucks
CHICAGO - The City of Chicago plans to purchase 20 electric refuse trucks from Motiv Power Systems for $13.4 million. Each vehicle is a Class 8 truck with a range of 60 miles.
