Gasoline Extends Price Decline to Six Weeks
The national average price of gasoline declined for the sixth consecutive week, falling 1 cent to $3.505 for the week ending Aug. 11, according to federal data.

The national average price of gasoline declined for the sixth consecutive week, falling 1 cent to $3.505 for the week ending Aug. 11, according to federal data.
The price of gasoline is now 5.6 cents lower than it was a year ago, according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. During the week, the price fell in seven of the nine regions tracked, including a 4.1-cent decline in the Central Atlantic. The average price rose 3.5 cents in the Midwest.
The average price of gasoline now costs at least $3.50 in 23 states and the District of Columbia, according to the AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report.
Meanwhile, the average price of diesel also fell 1 cent to $3.843. Diesel is now 5.3 cents lower than it was a year ago.
