Subaru Adds Security Options to 2016 Forester
Subaru has added new StarLink emergency assistance and security packages and other enhancements to its fourth-generation Forester, as well as releasing pricing for the compact SUV.

Subaru has added new StarLink emergency assistance and security packages and other enhancements to its fourth-generation Forester, as well as releasing pricing for the compact SUV.
Subaru's best-selling vehicle now offers two StarLink packages as optional equipment. The StarLink Safety Plus package includes SOS emergency assistance, enhanced roadside assistance, automatic collision notification, maintenance notifications, monthly vehicle health report and diagnostic alerts.The StarLink Safety Plus & Security Plus package adds a stolen vehicle recovery service, vehicle security alarm notification, remote lock/unlock, remote horn and lights and a remote vehicle locator.
Retail pricing with destination and delivery fees has been set at $23,245 for the 2.5i manual; $24,245 for the 2.5i CVT; $26,145 for the 2.5i Premium manual; $26,645 for the 2.5i Premium CVT; $29,645 for the 2.5i Limited CVT; $31,645 for the 2.5i Touring CVT; $30,045 for the 2.0XT Premium CVT; and $34,645 for the 2.0 XT Touring CVT.
As part of its 2016 update, Subaru has also added smartphone integration availability to its base model and a larger 7-inch display with Sirius XM satellite radio to the Premium model.
Forester models will also include steering-responsive fog lights, which use pre-aimed fog lights to individually provide enhanced illumination in the direction of a turn.
Other improved features include upgraded HD radios, and models with navigation also get annual updates once per year for three years and an extended satellite traffic link.
All Foresters come standard with all-wheel drive and no changes have been made to the engine lineup. A six-speed manual transmission is standard for the 2.5i and 2.5i Premium, with the continuously variable transmission (CVT) offered as an option. When equipped with the Lineartronic CVT, the vehicle achieves EPA fuel economy estimates of 24 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 27 mpg combined.
The 2016 Forester 2.5i model is available in base, Premium, Limited and top-line Touring trims. All 2.5i models are Partial Zero Emissions (PZEV) certified.
