Ford will add new special editions of the F-150 for the 2016 model year and equip the nation's top-selling truck with its new SYNC 3 infotainment system, in addition to the previously announced gaseous-fuel prep package and trailer assist option.

Ford will offer special edition appearance packages with the XLT and Lariat trim levels with unique wheels, graphics and finishes.

Earlier this year, Ford announced it would add a natural gas or propane gaseous-prep package available from the factory for fleets wanting to set up the truck as a bi-fuel or dedicated alternative-fuel vehicle. Ford has also announced it would add the Pro Trailer Backup Assist option that will help drivers needing to back up a truck with attached trailer.

The 2016 F-150 will also feature SYNC 3, Ford's revamped infotainment system that offers enhanced voice recognition, high-speed performance, a capacitive touch screen, and simplified graphical interface. The system replaces Sync with MyFord Touch.
