Acura unveiled a prototype its 2015 TLX mid-size sedan that will replace the TL and TSX sedans at the Detroit auto show this week.

The TLX will offer a 2.4L VTEC four-cylinder or a 3.5L V-6 engine that generate 185 horsepower and 278 hp respectively. Both engines get direct injection. The four will be mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission with a torque converter, while the V-6 will be mated to a new nine-speed automatic transmission.

The automaker is "targeting top-class EPA fuel economy ratings" for the TLX, according to the automaker.
