The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced four separate safety recalls to address potential fire risk arising from oil leaks in modified Ford F-Series Super Duty work trucks equipped with Muncie Power Products PTO (power take-off) assemblies.

In these modified work trucks, oil might leak from the PTO pressure switch onto a thermal blanket covering the exhaust. This condition poses a fire risk, NHTSA said.

The truck upfitters will install new PTO pressure switches, free of charge, to resolve the problem.

Oklahoma City-based Tactical Vehicle Outfitters is recalling 19 2010-2014 model-year Ford F-350 and F-550 trucks.

Vehicle owners can reach Tactical customer service at 1-405-603-6700.

Utility Truck Equipment Co. in Texas is recalling 16 2010-2013 model-year UTLI41A, 2011 UTLN41, and 2012 UTLN46 aerial trucks manufactured December 2010 to September 2013. These trucks are equipped with certain Muncie Power Products PTO assemblies installed on 2010-2013 Ford F-350, F-450 and F-550 vehicles. Dealers will install a new pressure switch kit that moves the switch away from the exhaust system, free of charge. This recall got under way last month.

STAHL is recalling 10 2009-2014 MY Ford F-350, F-450 and F-550 modified work trucks to apply the same remedy. Similarly, Somerset Welding & Steel -- also known as J&J Truck Equipment -- is recalling four 2009-2013 MY F-350, F-450 and F-550 trucks with 6.8L gasoline engines.

STAHL can be reached at 1-800-277-8245. Somerset Welding & Steel can be reached at 1-800-777-2671. The phone number for Muncie is 1-800-367-7867.
