Hyundai's fledgling Genesis luxury brand has picked Marty Focht to grow awareness and sales in the U.S. market, Genesis Motor America has announced.

Focht takes on the role of senior group manager for sales at Genesis Motor America. The appointment is effective immediately. He reports to Erwin Raphael, general manager.

Focht arrives from Mercedes-Benz, where he spent more than 20 years in sales, distribution, customer service, strategic retail development, and incentives planning.

"This position is vital to the growth of Genesis Motor America," Raphael said. "His experience will allow us to focus on long-term strategic goals like optimizing our network for sustainable retailer success as well as more short-term tactical objectives like getting the word out about our complimentary service valet."
