Element Fleet Management has begun offering SiriusXM satellite radio to its fleet customers under a new partnership designed to allow corporate fleet managers to reward drivers.

The fleet management company launched the offering with a global pharmaceutical fleet in the spring and recently rolled it out to all clients, according to the company.

"Fleet managers are looking for ways to reward good driving behavior,” said Tricia Skapyak, SiriusXM’s director of automotive fleet and commercial partnerships. “Every time their drivers tune in they get the best in audio entertainment and they are reminded of their good work."

Under the program, a company can reward drivers for good behavior by extending the SiriusXM service beyond the new vehicle trial. It would be paid for by the company rather than the driver under SiriusXM's Corporate Pay Program.

"We hope our fleet customers will see the SiriusXM product as a unique driver/employee recognition tool for safe driving, compliance with other fleet policies such as personal mileage reporting, and reaching sales/performance goals," said Michele Cunningham, senior vice president of product and services.

The program allows fleet managers to reward good drivers with a simplified approach, said Eric Strom, Element's director of product management.

"We see it not only as a tool for safe drivers, but a tool for any kind of good driver," said Strom. "You don’t have to build out a whole rewards site with points and make it complicated. This is fairly straightforward."

The satellite radio provider is developing partnerships with several fleet management companies. In May, ARI announced it would offer the Fleet Driver Program to clients.
