Propane FedEx Vehicles to Serve New York
FedEx will deploy its first propane autogas delivery vehicle developed in a partnership with ROUSH CleanTech later this year, the company announced Thursday at the Work Truck Show in Indianapolis.

FedEx will deploy its first propane autogas delivery vehicle developed in a partnership with ROUSH CleanTech later this year, the company announced Thursday at the NTEA Work Truck Show in Indianapolis.
The vehicle will use Ford's F-59 stripped chassis that will be outfitted by ROUSH CleanTech with propane autogas fueling infrastructure. Once ready, FedEx contractor Chase Delivery of Lancaster, N.Y., will deploy the vehicle to serve FedEx's high-mileage route in Buffalo.
"The wear and tear of propane autogas engines is significantly less than conventional fuel engines," said Jon Chase, CEO of Chase Delivery. "For anyone interested in reducing fuel and maintenance costs, propane autogas is the way to go."
The vehicle will be outfitted with a 65-gallon fuel tank and will lower carbon-dioxide emissions by about 105,000 pounds over the lifetime of its operation.
Chase also plans to install a private fueling station, and will add three more ROUSH CleanTech Ford F-59 trucks by year's end.
