Fleetmatics Group PLC has added 50 new mid-market customers in the third quarter, and the telematics provider secured at least one mid-market size transaction in every country it serves in the quarter ending Sept. 30, Fleetmatics has announced.
The company defines mid-market customers as small and mid-sized businesses (SMB) with fleets of 75 to 499 vehicles.
"This growth validates our software's ability to provide value to mid-size businesses ranging from construction and trucking to delivery and distribution," said Jill Ward, Fleetmatics' president and chief operating officer.
Fleetmatics' intuitive, cost-effective Web-based solutions provide fleet operators with visibility into vehicle location, fuel usage, speed and mileage, and other insights into their mobile workforce, enabling them to reduce operating costs and increase revenue, according to the company.
In the last year, Fleetmatics has grown its overall subscriber base across industries of all sizes to 655,000 vehicles, and currently serves approximately 31,000 customers throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Netherlands, France, and Australia.
"We selected Fleetmatics simply because it's the easiest system we've used to manage our fleet of vehicles," said Erik Bosi, director of maintenance of KRD Trucking in Lynwood, Ill., a trucking company for material hauling and heavy equipment with over 400 vehicles in its fleet. "Installation was straight-forward, so we were up-and-running in no time, enabling us to monitor idling times, locate our vehicles and review historical data."
