Ford Updates Kuga in South Africa

Ford launched an updated Kuga SUV to the South Africa market that contains new connectivity features, a lower price, and an updated look.
New features include the additon of Ford's Sync3 infotainment system, as well as safety updates via Ford’s Active City Stop technology that offers low-speed collision avoidance, according to the Automaker.
Pricing for the base model is now at $27,656, which was previously $28,788, according to IOL. The updated Kuga is available in two petrol engines via the 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre EcoBoost petrol units, as well as a 2.0-litre TDCi turbodiesel engine.
The release of the updated SUV follows a string of fire-related recalls of Kuga's produced several years ago. Ford South America issued two safety calls earlier in 2017 for Kuga 1.6-litre Ecoboost models produced from December 2012 to February 2014 due to engine fires.
Ford South America issued a third safety recall at the end of August for all Kugas, regardless of engine type‚ built at the automaker's Valencia factory in Spain from July 2012 to June 2014. Approximately 7,219 Ford Kuga vehicles in South America were affected by the recall, according to Wheels 24.
