During the Fleet Europe Awards ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, Christian Lindskov Alsø, head of Group Fleet and Procurement Excellence at ISS World Services, was named International Fleet Manager of the Year 2015 – Large Fleet. Montse Empez Vidal, chief purchasing officer and Luisa Amate Comesaña, group fleet responsible at Applus, received the award for International Fleet Manager of the Year 2015 – Medium Fleet. Mike Masterson, CEO of ALD International, entered the International Fleet Hall of Fame. ARI Fleet won the International Fleet Industry Award.

This year's ceremony was held at the Salone delle Fontane in Rome. The event was attended by over 700 international car fleet experts from around the globe.

The Fleet Europe Awards recognize outstanding achievements in various categories of fleet management. This was the 9th edition of the event, organized by Fleet Europe, the media platform specialized in B2B information on international car fleet management.

There were eight prizes awarded during the gala event, including International Fleet Manager of the Year, Large and Medium, International Fleet Green Award, International Fleet Safety Award, International Fleet Mobility Award, International Fleet Innovation Award, and International Fleet Industry Award. In addition, there was a new inductee into the International Fleet Hall of Fame. Some awards include a second and third prize.

The International Fleet Manager of the Year – Large Fleet is presented every year to the person who has most successfully contributed to developing a fleet management strategy across the globe, and has effectively implemented an efficient cost structure for the vehicle policy by taking into account local differences and current fleet issues such as climate change, safety and mobility management.

The 2015 Large Fleet Award was presented to Christian Alsø Lindskov, head of Group Fleet & Procurement Excellence at ISS World Services.

The second prize in the category Large Fleet Manager of the Year 2015 went to Romain Trébuil, purchasing manager at L’Oréal. Mariano Tristan and Marina Balloni, both European fleet project leaders at Eli Lilly, received the third prize in this category.

The recipients of the 2015 Medium Fleet Award were Montse Empez Vidal, chief purchasing officer at Applus, and Luisa Amate Comesaña, group fleet responsible at Applus. The second prize in the category Medium Fleet Manager of the Year 2015 went to Geert Behets, head of Fleet Management at UCB Pharma.

The third prize in this category went to Selçuk Gündoğdu, Vaillant Group commodity buyer.

The International Fleet Green Award was won by Jean Zermati, group fleet manager at Orange. This prize underlines the efforts in promoting an environmental-oriented fleet in order to both mitigate global warming and respect authorities regulations regarding GHG emissions.

The International Fleet Safety Award was awarded to Selçuk Gündoğdu, Vaillant Group commodity buyer, who also received third prize in the Medium Fleet of the Year award. This prize recognises a company that has successfully implemented into its fleet a safety project focusing on its drivers' security, the use of new technologies and TCO optimization.

The International Fleet Mobility Award recognizes the importance of an integrated mobility plan into car fleet management and rewards a project that focuses on developing mobility within the company while offering original transport alternatives and optimization of the use of the car. The Award went to Jean Zermati, group fleet manager at Orange, who also received the International Fleet Green Award.

The International Fleet Innovation Award is given to an international fleet owner presenting a fleet management project that stands out in the field of innovation and in particular regarding the car policy, the use of reporting tools, the CSR approach, the safety approach and driver satisfaction. This year, Jean Zermati, group fleet manager at Orange who was also honored for the International Green and Fleet Mobility awards, won the International Fleet Innovation Award.

The Fleet Europe Industry Award underlines the role of suppliers in enhancing fleet management. This Award is designed to highlight innovative tools, products or services offered by international fleet suppliers that help globally fleet managers to optimize their car fleet. The first prize went to ARI Fleet. The second prize went to Geotab. The third prize went to Sixt Mobility Consulting.

The event ended the induction of the sixth member of the International Fleet Hall of Fame, Mike Masterson, CEO of ALD International. This award honors pioneers and leaders of the fleet industry who have significantly contributed to the international fleet management profession. Masterson has secured a continuous growth at ALD International in terms of realised business, geographical scope, together with a permanent business development in order to prepare his company for innovations in technology and fleet management.

Masterson is CEO of ALD International since 2011 and member of Société Générale Group Management Committee. He worked for ALD for twelve years and previously was Finance Director at Hertz. He studied Economics at Nottingham University.

Previous inductees included Tony Elliott of ARI Strategic Services Group (2010); Gianluca Soma, Société Générale (2011); Bruce McLaren, Microsoft (2012); Pascal Serres, ALD International; and Philippe Bismut, Arval.(2014).
