If you've ever craved more headroom while driving a Volvo station wagon (or estate for brand enthusiasts), the V60 Cross Country may be the vehicle for you.
Wagons have been largely replaced on the automotive landscape by utility vehicles and crossovers, and a vehicle such as the V60 Cross Country can blur the line between these categories. Volvo continues to seek greater penetration into the commercial fleet market, and its vehicles would seem to create a gravitational pull for managers of executive fleets with their appealing blending of luxury, ergonomic pizazz, and safety tech. In 2013, Volvo's best-selling fleet vehicle was the S60 sedan, which provides the platform for this vehicle.
Volvo introduced the V60 Cross Country as a 2015.5 model-year vehicle at the North American International Auto Show in January. It's powered by a 2.5L turbo-charged 5-cylinder DOHC engine that makes 250 hp and 266 lb.-ft. of torque. Volvo hasn't yet added its new Drive-E engine lineup to this vehicle, which also gets all-wheel drive and a 6-speed automatic.

Volvo has added plenty of safety features to the vehicle we tested, including its now-standard City Safety low-speed collision avoidance system for distracted driving. Our model was also equipped with the optional blind-spot monitoring system with cross-traffic alerts and front park assist.
The cabin of the V60 Cross Country provides impressive comfort with an eight-way power driver's seat with lumbar adjustments. The rear cargo area offers 72.1 cubic feet of space, which could accommodate larger cargo beyond the brochures and marketing material used by sales fleets.
