TORRANCE, CA – Bobit Business Media (BBM) is pleased to announce that Maggie Cole, director of environmental safety & health (ESH) for Monsanto, will be providing the welcome keynote speech at the first-ever Fleet Safety Conference next month in Schaumburg, Ill. Cole will address the critical role of risk management in the management of company-provided vehicles.

In addition to the keynote address, Cole will serve as a panelist for the session on “Fleet Safety Benchmarking, Collaboration, and Best Practices: Reducing Collisions, Injuries, and Costs.”

One of four candidates selected for Fleet Financials’2012 Fleet Executive of the Year Award, Cole supervises an eight-member staff and is responsible for the Global Vehicle Safety and Global Off The Job Safety programs, as well as U.S. Commercial ESH, of Monsanto’s 3,400-unit U.S. fleet. The Global Vehicle Safety Team works closely with the regional fleet management teams and DOT function to align policies addressing drivers and vehicle and training requirements within each of the regions in the U.S.

Before becoming a certified Lean Practitioner in 2005, Cole obtained her Six Sigma Black Belt in 2000, followed by a Master Black Belt in 2003. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS).

Endorsed by the American Automotive Leasing Association (AALA), National Safety Council, and NETS, the 2012 Fleet Safety Conference will be held May 22-23 at the Renaissance Hotel in Schaumburg, Ill. The two-day event will be packed with educational sessions for both commercial and government fleets, covering distracted driving, predicting and preventing at-fault crashes, resources that can be used to promote a safety culture, facts and information on entrustment liabilities, as well as federal and state regulations and compliance.

In addition, the conference will include the presentation of the first-ever Fleet Safety Award, honoring the top safety professional. The award is sponsored by AALA.
