Chrysler Postponing 2010-MY Fleet Preview
AUBURN HILLS, MI – Chrysler has decided to postpone the 2010-MY Fleet Customer Event, originally scheduled to take place June 1-5 in Ann Arbor, Mich., to a later date this year.
AUBURN HILLS, MI – Chrysler LLC has announced its decision to postpone the 2010-MY Fleet Customer Event, originally scheduled to take place June 1-5 in Ann Arbor, Mich., to later this year.
"We have decided that it is in all our best interest to postpone the 2010-MY Fleet Customer Event," Pat Dougherty, director of fleet operations, announced in a statement e-mailed to all registered event attendees. "We feel confident that this is the right approach for you, our customers and Chrysler Fleet; and that it will ultimately result in a more productive event." Holding the event at a later date will allow the company to better provide customers information on its restructuring progress, according to Dougherty.
Chrysler LLC is currently restructuring under the guidance of Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and has signed an agreement in principle to establish a global strategic alliance with Fiat s.P.a.
"This type of 'structured bankruptcy' filing will allow us to establish a new Chrysler and will allow the new Chrysler, in a global alliance with Fiat, to emerge leaner, more competitive and with greatly enhanced long-term viability," Dougherty said.
The alliance between Chrysler and Fiat was declared April 30.
