Saturn Not Producing 2009-MY Astra For Sale in U.S.
DETROIT – Though the 2009-MY Saturn Astra will not be produced for sale in the U.S., the 2008-MY Astra is available and the 2010-MY vehicle remains in the company's product plan.

2008 Saturn Astra XR 5-door

DETROIT – Saturn Astra will not be produced for sale in the U.S. as a 2009-MY vehicle. However, the 2008-MY Astra is available throughout the U.S. with approximately 5,500 units in dealer stock and the 2010-MY vehicle remains in the company's product plan.
The Astra remains the newest member of the Saturn line-up and is a strong entry into the compact car segment, according to Saturn officials. No significant product changes are expected for 2009-MY Astra vehicles.
Saturn sold approximately 12,000 Astras during calendar year 2008, according to the company. Although this was slightly lower than anticipated, the company also attributes this to the condition of the new-vehicle market, which was down nearly 20 percent.
