BRANDETON, FL – GE Security Inc., a business of GE Enterprise Solutions, has announced the authorized dealer winners of its "Drive It Home" sweepstakes. Each of the seven grand prize winners will receive a 2008 Ford E-150 utility truck, valued at $26,500, and specially outfitted to help them grow their businesses.

Four "Drive It Home" Sweepstakes winners are certified GE Security Pros, experts in all aspects of residential and commercial security. The winning Security Pros are Alarm Engineering of Salisbury, Md., Guardian Security of N.C., Sentinel Alarm of Indianapolis, and Superior Alarms of Edwards, Colo.

Additional authorized dealer winners include Robbins Alarm of West Helena, Ark., Knox Security of Hackettstown, N.J., and Aegis Protection Inc. of Phoenix. Of the seven winners, six were randomly selected from automatic entries into the sweepstakes based on purchases through the following participating distributors: Alarmax, Eastern Distributing, SES, Systems Depot, and Tri-Ed. The winners were selected at random by an independent judging organization and notified by a GE Security executive.

The customized trucks include a special five-piece DeWalt tool package valued at $1,500 that includes drills, a cordless vacuum, a heavy-duty radio, and a worksite storage bag.

GE Security product dealers were automatically entered in the sweepstakes after each purchase of any GE Security SmartCom, SmartCommand, Simon XT, Simon XT Alarm.com module, or Digia II system through GE Security or participating distributors between Nov. 19, 2007, and Jan. 31, 2008. Dealers who did not purchase a qualifying product were also eligible to enter the sweepstakes via mail postmarked by Jan. 31, 2008.

Migration to 4-Cylinder Engines Continues with 2010-MY Ordering

By Mike Antich
The ongoing volatility of gasoline prices has prompted a growing number of fleets to transition to four-cylinder engines. This transition started in the 2008-MY and accelerated with 2009-MY ordering, when gas prices surpassed $4 per gallon in the summer of 2008. Early indications are that the migration to four-cylinder engines will continue with 2010-MY ordering. We have already seen glimpses of this trend in the 2010 RFPs submitted to major OEMs.
