Chevrolet Increased Sales to Small Businesses by 36 Percent in Q4 of 2010

DETROIT - Chevrolet reported that it has increased sales to small businesses for three consecutive months, with Chevrolet dealers recording a 36-percent increase in small-business sales. The company said that sales to small businesses significantly outpaced the total sales increase nationally during the fourth quarter of 2010.

Ford, GM and Toyota Predict Gas Prices Will Rise Above $3.50 per Gallon in 2011

DETROIT - Toyota’s brand chief Bob Carter said he believes gas prices will remain above $3 a gallon throughout 2011, eventually rising to $3.50. GM’s CEO Dan Akerson told the Detroit Free Press that he thinks $4 per gallon is a possibility by 2012. Ford’s CEO Alan Mulally didn’t offer an opinion on the possible price increase or a timeline but said the company is ready with a lineup of affordable small cars if prices rise to $4 per gallon.

GM Recalling 1,262 MY 2011 Vehicles

WASHINGTON - General Motors is recalling 1,262 MY 2011 Cadillac Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Chevrolet Silverado LD and GMC Sierra LD vehicles because of a potential defect that could impact vehicle directional control, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
