Hydrogen Fueling Step-by-Step
The hydrogen fuel pump we used could only fuel one vehicle at a time. The pump cues users for each step in the fueling process.
The first step involved unhooking the cap from the fuel tank's nipple.
Once the cap was removed, we were ready to fill the Mirai.
We entered our Toyota-provided code to activate the pump.
The hydrogen fuel pump needed to pressurize to 10,000 psi, so we waited a few minutes.
We seated the nozzle onto the fuel tank's nipple for fueling.
We squeezed the trigger mechanism to securely attach the nozzle to the fueling port.
We used the keypad to begin fueling. The pump's read-out told us when the four hydrogen tanks were full.
We removed the nozzle, and headed back to the office.
