Ford's 2019-MY Fleet Preview

Commercial, government, and fleet customers converged in the District of Columbia for Ford's 2019-MY Fleet Preview. The event featured early looks at upcoming vehicles, as well as first-hand demonstrations of various vehicles. 

Ford Motor Co. held a customer reception at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery during its 2019-MY Fleet Preview in June.

Mark LaNeve, vice president, U.S. Marketing Sales and Service, spoke at the 2019-MY Ford Fleet Preview business meeting on the topic of Ford's priorities and the company's goals to accelerate autonomous vehicles.

Michele Bartlett, general manager, Commercial Vehicle Sales and Marketing, and John Ruppert, general manager, Commercial Government Fleet Sales, thanked fleet customers, spoke on safety, and showed off the 2019 Ford Transit Connect Van and 2019 Ford Ranger.

Commercial, government, and rental customers attended the event, along with fleet management companies and upfitters. Representatives and customers from Ford of Canada were also in attendance.

The Built Ford Tough Proving Grounds focused on the performance capabilities of Ford's trucks and vans. One course showed off the towing capabilities of Ford's Super Duty F-450.

Kevin Koswick, director, North American Fleet, Lease and Remarketing, welcomed attendees and discussed Ford's balanced fleet strategy.

The Ford F-150 Police Responder, which attendees were able to drive during the Ride and Drive portion of the 2019-MY Ford Fleet Preview at FedExField, is the first-ever pursuit-rated truck in the market.

People in attendance were given the opportunity to see first-hand the technology and luxury amenities found inside Lincoln vehicles.

Ford introduced two new fuel efficient taxis: the 2019 Fusion Hybrid Taxi and 2019 Transit Connect Taxi. The first-ever Fusion Hybrid Taxi shares parts with the Ford Police Responder Hybrid and has a projected fuel efficiency of 40 mpg city / 36 mpg highway.

The 2019 Transit Connect Taxi with an available 1.5-liter EcoBlue diesel engine has a projected EPA-estimated highway rating of at least 30 mpg. The new taxi has a low vehicle floor and comes with a recessed second-row seat.
