More than 350 clients and affiliated fleet professionals attended the 2020 Lytx User Group Conference that was held Feb. 23-26, 2020 at the Loews Coronado Bay in San Diego, Calf. This was the company’s seventh annual user group meeting, whose theme was “Powering the Next Decade Together.” Lytx specializes in video telematics, analytics, safety and productivity solutions for commercial, public sector, and field services fleets.

Lytx CEO Brandon Nixon opened the conference by discussing strategies to drive growth and innovation within the global transportation economy over the next decade.

The winners of the Lytx annual Driver and Coach of the Year Awards pose for a group photo. The awards recognize outstanding professional drivers and coaches currently using Lytx’s Driver Safety Program in six driving categories: Government; Services and Utilities; Transit/Motor Coach; For-Hire Trucking; Private Trucking; and Waste/Construction.

Keynote speaker Scott Klososky, the founding partner of Future Point of View, discussed how companies can thrive in disruption and make the digital transformation.

Winners of the 2020 Lytx Innovation Award participated in a panel discussion about their fleet operations. Lytx, formerly known as DriveCam, was founded in 1998. It is a technology company that designs, manufactures, and sells video telematics products used by commercial and public-sector fleets. Headquartered in San Diego, Calif., Lytx has three offices in the U.S. and one in the UK.

During the Product Showcase breaks between educational sessions, Lytx demonstrated its newest products and services, such as the DriveCam SF300 Event Recorder that provides fleets with onboard machine vision and artificial intelligence to proactively detect driving risks.

The opening reception was held on the terrace overlooking scenic Coronado Bay and the San Diego skyline. Representing 25 different industry segments, ranging from distribution, construction, to utilities, attendees had plenty of networking opportunities to meet their counterparts from different fleets.

Named 2020 Coach of the Year at the conference’s awards dinner was Brentt Mackie, safety and service quality administrator for Pierce Transit, a public transportation agency headquartered in Lakewood, Wash.
