VW Announces EPA-Estimated MPG for 2022 Jetta

The EPA says that the 2022 Jetta will bring hundreds of dollars in fuel saved compared to the national average new vehicle.

Volkswagen of America announced official fuel economy ratings for the 2022 Volkswagen Jetta.

S models equipped with the optional eight-speed automatic transmission have an EPA-estimated rating of 31 MPG city, 41 MPG highway, and 35 MPG combined. SE and SEL models equipped with the optional eight-speed automatic transmission have an EPA-estimated rating of 29 MPG city, 40 MPG highway, and 33 MPG combined.

Jetta models with the standard six-speed manual transmission have an EPA-estimated rating of 29 MPG city, 43 MPG highway, and 34 MPG combined.

The 2022 Jetta base models are now equipped with the 1.5-liter turbocharged and direct-injection EA211 TSI engine, the same one found in the Taos compact SUV. This new engine is designed to provide a combination of low-speed torque and competitive fuel economy, VW says.

All ratings are based on regular unleaded fuel.

According to the EPA, owners of the 2022 Jetta can save as much as $1,500 in fuel over five years compared to the national average new vehicle, while those who have the GLI can save as much as $500.
