The Kia Cadenza will enter the 2017 model year with improved styling, a lighter body structure, and new 8-speed transmission as it enters its second generation.

The 2017 front-wheel-drive Cadenza, which was shown at the New York International Auto Show, is expected to go on sale in late 2016. Pricing and detailed specifications will be announced closer to that date.

The 2017 Cadenza is Kia's first FWD 8-speed automatic transmission. Power will be delivered by a version of Kia's 3.3L V-6 that has been revised for greater fuel efficiency. The engine is expected to produce 290 hp.

The Cadenza's body structure will now be composed of 50% high-strength steel to reduce weight. Kia is adding a ninth airbag for the driver's knee.
