CANTON, MS – Nissan Americas announced it will add production of its all-new 2013-MY Nissan Sentra at its Canton Vehicle Assembly Plan in Mississippi during the fourth quarter of 2012. The company isn’t eliminating production outside the U.S.; it will still build Sentra models at its plant in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

The automaker said that adding Sentra production, plus its planned November shift of the Frontier pickup truck and Xterra SUV to Canton from its operations in Smyrna, Tenn., will create 1,000 jobs at the plant. Nissan's Canton Assembly Plant currently builds the all-new 2013 Nissan Altima, the Armada full-size SUV, the Titan full-size pickup, and NV commercial vans.
