CalAmp will supply Trimble with customized telematics tracking devices and systems management technology for its Field Service Management (FSM) vehicle and asset monitoring solutions, Trimble announced.
Trimble will focus on the value-add fleet management, work management, diagnostics, driver safety and mobility software and cloud-services that enable organizations to improve efficiency and productivity. The Trimble solutions allow fleet managers and equipment dealers to locate and monitor the health and utilization of their vehicles and equipment, and proactively manage maintenance, according to the company.
The CalAmp devices are simple to install and its PEG (Programmable Event Generator) and PULS (Programming, Update and Logistics System) technology enables greater customization and easier device management. This technology improves field service response time by tracking vehicle and equipment location to efficiently deploy service technicians.
In addition, the Trimble solutions incorporate equipment warnings and diagnostic information to improve first-time fix rates and increase customer satisfaction. Equipment dealers and fleet managers will benefit from the integration of Trimble's solutions to improve their service and maintenance workflows and business systems.
"Trimble chose to partner with CalAmp to strengthen our FSM portfolio," said John Cameron, general manager of Trimble's FSM division. "Working together, CalAmp will deliver an industry-leading telematics device and Trimble will focus on field service management software technology. The end goal is to deliver a complete solution to transform work processes and efficiency for our customers."
